Protect what matters. Perform under pressure. Make better decisions.
Practical books on risk, resilience, performance and judgement
The Mission-Critical Services Series
This series draws on Rab Mulholland’s experience as a Lieutenant Colonel in the British Army and operational war planner, including operational and planning deployments with NATO, US forces and UK emergency services; alongside civilian roles in executive leadership, information security, business resilience and programme delivery. Supported by a BSc, MBA and MSc, his work turns that experience into practical guidance for protecting essential services, testing readiness and making sound decisions under pressure.
Every book in this series is built around one philosophy:
Organisations exist to deliver mission-critical services. Every management discipline should therefore be judged by the extent to which it helps those services succeed.
That philosophy connects every title in the series.

The Personal Resilience, Performance & Staying Safe Series
Every book in this series has a connection to Rab Mulholland’s own life, drawing on personal experiences of pressure, disruption, recovery and change. His military and civilian leadership background, together with eight years as a Samaritans listening volunteer, informs a practical, reflective approach to protecting boundaries, rebuilding confidence and finding a way forward.
The books approach personal resilience from different but connected directions: protecting capacity, interrupting damaging patterns, rebuilding sustainable performance, and creating enough mental space to make deliberate choices when life becomes noisy.
They are not about becoming invulnerable or performing at full capacity all the time. They are about understanding yourself well enough to recognise when something is going wrong, exercising judgement earlier, adapting when circumstances change and finding a way back to effective performance without simply demanding more of yourself.
"Each book is grounded in a real event or experience from my own life, using what happened and what I learned from it to explore a different aspect of personal resilience and performance. If you'd like to know more, please get in touch". Rab
